Alex Grey giving his presentation; a slide-show overview of the history of psychoactive-inspired artists and their works. Filling in a time slot left by a last-minute cancellation, Alex's nearly-impromptu presentation was very well put together, especially considering that Alex had been up late the night before hosting a benefit party for his Chapel of Sacred Mirrors.
Rick Doblin, giving a presentation entitled, “Psychedelic Psychotherapy Research and Psychedelic Culture.” MAPS has made great strides recently, and Rick is very optimistic about the future. He speaks with great enthusiasm on the topic of psychedelic research, and received a standing ovation for his presentation.
Ann and Sasha holding an “Ask the Shulgins” session Friday afternoon. Sasha touched on his recent work with cacti, and in particular mentioned certain non-mescaline cacti which are nonetheless active in the same fashion as their mescaline-containing cousins. Sasha suspects that perhaps there are phenethylamines which, although having been written off as inactive, may become orally active upon pre-administering a monoamine oxidase inhibitor.
